    Unheated Rassal clay, 1kg bag

We have been using clay for over twenty years with our six children and we have discovered The Clays of the Sun A few years ago, they became part of our family and travel health kit. We decided to list and offer you these clays, which are truly top quality, in France and perhaps in the world, as we are particularly well-positioned in France for clays.

    Argile selon la peau

Rassal clay (like the Moroccan ghassoul clay that we offer in the form of plates and not powder in smaller packages) is the perfect clay for cleansing the skin and/or hair, so it is preferred for external use. It is a smectite clay, just like Ghassoul. Rassal clay gently cleanses all types of hair and the body. It does not contain a cleansing base – it does not foam. The clay is extracted from a French quarry (washed, sun-dried, ground), and then transported to the Mons factory to obtain a purified product of very high quality.

Four years ago, during a stay in an ecovillage, I discovered that I could give up using my organic shampoo with its plastic packaging and its endless list of ingredients in Latin, which were incomprehensible to me. Rassal clay very advantageously replaces soap and provides incredible softness to the hair and skin because its function is completely different from that of a detergent (shampoo or soap).

🔺Strip the skin and hair or nourish them ?

What is offered to us in terms of mass consumption, whether organic or not, is to regularly cleanse (strip!) our skin and hair with detergents that destroy the first protective barrier of our body, the very thin hydrolipidic film on the surface of the skin. One of its functions is to protect the skin against the sun, wind, external toxins, and also dehydration from the inside out. This film is the first agent of the epidermis's immune system.

    structure de la peau

Detergents will also, in the process, alter the skin ecosystem by particularly changing the pH and causing disruptions in the saprophyte flora, attacking the stratum corneum of the epidermis and allowing water and various other substances contained in the detergent product used, whether it is soap or shampoo, to penetrate deeper into the epidermis. Some of these substances will have a beneficial effect, while others will damage the epidermis or be toxic, allergenic, or dehydrating. Sensitive skin knows this well... We are then offered to moisturize our skin with moisturizing creams, a solution to the problem we create from scratch !

How many normal skins have become dry due to being stripped? The removal of the hydrolipidic film indeed causes dehydration that can be felt as soon as the skin is dry: a sensation of dry, tight skin.

🔺 Les Argiles du Soleil stand out from the clays typically found on the market and in pharmacies because they are:
    - raw without transformation,
    -
    not heated, simply sun-dried,
    -
    unwashed,
    -
    non-ionized,
    -
    not tested on animals.

They therefore retain all their natural properties and their entire exchange surface.

Rassal clay has the ability to bind fats and impurities in aqueous environments by absorbing them like a sponge. Since it contains no surfactants, it does not have the disadvantage, like these detergents, of stripping away the first protective layer, the hydrolipidic film present on the skin and hair, and therefore does not irritate the sebaceous glands.
