Chlorella appeared on Earth, about 1.5 to 2 billion years ago. This single-celled microalgae from fresh water is found in lakes and ponds in nature all over the world. Called Chlorella Vulgarus by a Dutch biologist at the end of the 19th century, its name means "little green one", and for a good reason: it is smaller than a red blood cell!

Like spirulina, chlorella is a microalgae particularly nutritious and alkalinizing. Its high content in proteins (50%), B1, B6, B12, C and K vitamins makes it a privileged tool for vegetarian and vegan diets. It is also rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, selenium... and omega 3! It has a lower iodine content than spirulina.

Its pigments, rich in carotenoids and especially lutein, protect you against free radicals and ensure the good health of your eyes.

Above all, chlorella is distinguished from spirulina because it has a individualized nucleus, in which the membrane is full of chlorophyll and cellulose. It is this membrane, so-called "chelating" which makes it a powerful tool to fight against the impact of pollution, pesticides, and oxidative stress.

On one hand, the chlorophyll looks surprisingly like to hemoglobin. It will enrich the blood of ionized minerals, oxygenate the body and re-balance its pH, to the dismay of pathogens such as candida albicans and numerous bacteria. On the other hand, cellulose fibers, thanks to the presence of sporopollenin, will come to catch toxic and polluting agents. These fibers are not digested but eliminated directly!

Currently, we are all exposed to heavy metals. Back pain, digestive and nervous disorders, and chronic fatigue are often a sign of poisoning. It is proven that a cure of a few months from 3 to 6g per day significantly reduces the rate of heavy metals in the organs and the blood.

Tip: chlorella can also be used in the preparation of your cosmetics at home! In addition to cleaning your skin of pollution, its intake of chlorophyll enhances the production of elastin and collagen, improving cell renewal.

Our chlorella is available in eco-packs of 500g or 1kg and can be kept for 3 years.

Daily consumption recommended : 3 to 6g/day (1 full teaspoon).

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Keep out of reach of children and away from light.

It should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.

Why Biovie's chlorella is dried by spray drying?

The work of Hélène Desmorieux, PhD student and researcher at LAGEP, a laboratory under the common management of the University Claude Bernard 1 in Lyon and the CNRS, shows the best drying method for the nutrients preservation of the spirulina (which can be extended to other micro-algae) is the spray drying, recognized by Ecocert. This method by nebulizer allows the rapid dehydratation of the algae and the preservation of their nutritional qualities. (Freeze drying is a superior method, but never used in practice for spirulina). The method of drying by convection on shelves, as commonly practiced in small handmade companies in France have drawbacks related to the implementation time of the drying.

Biovie long sought a serious and internationally competitive, certified by Ecocertsupplier of chlorella

We found a producer of chlorella in a semi-arid area of the Mongolian steppe, which produces chlorella on a continental shelf at 3000 meters of altitude, getting more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year, thus providing ideal production conditions.

    3000 metres altitude

    3000 hours of sun

The production area is distant from the large urban and industrial centres, the roads and enjoys a very pure atmosphere in altitude.

The production areas are located in a greenhouse to protect the crops from insects, micro-particles suspended in the air, as well as dust carried by the wind.

The generous sunshine ensures an appropriate temperature in the greenhouses, with a large day / night thermal amplitude favourable to the growth of micro algae.
