Hemp seeds to germinate in bag of 500g. France origin.
Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is part of the Cannabaceae family. It was already used more than 2000 years ago in China, for the strength of its fibers as well as for its exceptional medicinal properties.
Our current society has forgotten the importance of hemp in our history, yet it was considered a strategic resource from the Middle Ages until the 19th century. It is a plant with multiple uses: paper, textile, rope, insulation, mulching... Hemp paper was even the very first medium for the printed Bible! Without forgetting the many applications of the hemp seed for food. In addition to a delicious, sweet and subtle flavor, its products contain a nutritional richness unique in the plant world.
The hemp seed is used as it is on various preparations (pastry, breads, salads...) or by toasting it for the aperitif. To get the most of its benefits, we advise you to consume it sprouted!
Soaking: 1 hour
Germination: 5 days
No psychoactive effect. (cultivated variety contains less than 0.2% of THC)
Hemp is a "super plant". It is able to cover the 4 basic needs of humanity: food, shelter, clothing, health care. In addition, it is ecologically viable: it requires very little water, no chemical input, it helps to structure the soil, cleans weeds and cleans up the soil. Hemp fixes a large amount of CO2 in its straw, which makes it a good ally in reducing greenhouse gases, which are responsible for climate change.
In short, it is a plant that deserves to be known and recognized! This is what makes us want to support the cultivation of hemp and share with you its benefits on our scale.
Difference with cannabis, agriculture, uses, ecology... Le Monde (French newspaper) has summarized everything in this video of a few minutes:
Polyunsaturated essential fatty acids.
Source of omega 3 and 6. These fatty acids are not produced by the body and must therefore be assimilated through the diet. They are essential for the proper functioning of our brain, our retina and our entire nervous system. Often times we consume a lot more omega 6 and not enough omega 3. The excellent ratio of the hemp seed can help to balance this level.
Rich in proteins
We find 2x more in a portion of seed than in an egg! The two main proteins in hemp seed are edestin and albumin. These two high-quality storage proteins are easily digested and contain good amounts of all essential amino acids (which is not the case with most plant proteins). A real alternative for vegetarians or vegan.
Rich in fibers
The whole hemp seed preserves its shell which is the richest part in fiber, although the seed itself also contains soluble and insoluble fiber. This high fiber content promotes satiety and limits spikes in blood sugar levels, by delaying the absorption of glucose. It also enables better intestinal transit and therefore contributes to the good health of the digestive system.
Diversity of vitamins & minerals
Rich in B1, B6, B9 vitamins & source of E vitamin. Rich in Iron, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Potassium. A real nutritional nugget! This antioxidant cocktail fights, among other things, against stress, fatigue and hypertension. The high potassium content makes it an alkalizing food.
To access the benefits of hemp seeds in a much more powerful way: germinate them;) A study (available here) shows that the levels of total polyphenols, flavonoids and flavonols are much higher in the germinated seed than in the whole one. Antioxidant tests (including the ORAC test) support these results with greater activity in germs than in seeds.
The seeds we offer are very easy to germinate, it will be easy to integrate them into your daily life.

A few words about "Les Chanvres de l'Atlantique" producer in the South West of France:
We use regenerative agriculture techniques for the good of our planet, our people and our society. Innovation consists of learning to work with the intelligence of nature, to deal with it, instead of imposing. When we do, we take full advantage of it. Demonstrating that change is a solution to global challenges, to climate change, to social inequality, is a priority for us. Building a healthy and sustainable agricultural sector is undoubtedly our biggest challenge in this project.
Today we are building the agriculture of the new world. Our tools are:
• The intelligence of nature, if we take the time to observe, all the knowledge is there under our eyes.
• Human intelligence, centered and connected to nature, then solutions will appear.
• A holistic approach! From the emotional state of the farmer to the associations of plants or the cationic exchanges between bedrock and surface soil.
• Soil health technicians. As a good descendant of technicians in the health of the human body, we have assembled a team of researchers working as much on energy plans as on matter itself.
• Innovative practices, Agroforestry, combination of plants, direct sowing, etc.
