How to Build a Strong and Lasting Love: Our Essential Points

How to Build a Strong and Lasting Love: Our Essential Points

- Categories : Wellbeing advices Rss feed

With Aurélie, we are in a particularly intense and engaging relationship. Like many today, we met each other already having experiences and baggage. : We each went through a divorce and were parents to children before we met. We wanted to start a new family by welcoming a child from our union. We also wanted to work together, driven by the same passions, by writing together the continuation of Biovie, which I created alone for 7 years, a company operating internationally with contributions from about ten people.

The sum of these responsibilities means that our relationship is intensely demanded by our family and professional environment.

We had to face many challenges:

- impotence facing the addictions that can affect our adolescents,
- public denigration, the boycott and attempts to sabotage our company over a period of 4 years,
- the impact of COVID measures on small businesses,
- social codes in full transformation and entrepreneurship with its share of daily unpredictability and its demand for constant adaptation.

If the image of Epinal (the town where I was born!) often conveys a picture of a smiling and united family in the midst of a sunny and bucolic landscape, in our case, it is more accurate to imagine a couple of hikers climbing a mountain in the middle of a storm... with its long, fortunately beautiful clearings !

It's not easy to preserve the romantic connection amidst all this; there is the couple that keeps evolving and our respective personalities that are growing:The relationship needs tools to communicate well and understand each other.

We have not discovered the miracle recipe, but Over time, we have created a customized toolkit that we are sharing with you here so that these tools can also benefit you. We have also enlisted valuable resource persons whom we introduce to you in this article.

The first step we implemented was to create our individual Human Design profiles to better understand how each of us operates, both on a personal and professional level.

Human Design for a better understanding of oneself, of others, and of how we experience the world

What is Human Design ?

Human Design is a knowledge system that combines several disciplines. It was founded by Ra Uru Hu (real name Robert Allan Krakower) in the 1980s. Human Design aims to provide a deep understanding of oneself and others. through a "body graph" that represents our strengths, challenges, and the way we interact with the world.

My scientific doubts about this method evaporated when I read my own profile, which matches my personality in every way. Similarly, Aurélie's profile is very true to who she is. However, I do not know how the profile is obtained, and that's perfectly fine with me.

The essential interest of Human Design is that you can choose the level of depth for reading and explanation, whether simple or more refined. You can read your profile and revisit it three months later for further insights. By doing the profile for each person in the couple, we end up with a sort of detailed map of our partner's personality.

These terrain maps have been incredibly useful for us in managing Biovie together; there was truly a before and after. In our personal life as well, Human Design has been a gem in our role as parents. It should be offered to all couples and those responsible for human relations in companies !

Our profiles are on our magnetic board at my workstation so that we can refer to them regularly.

Applications of Human Design

Human Design has several applications in daily life, both on a personal and professional level:

  1. Self-understanding : it allows for a better understanding of one's strengths and weaknesses, thus helping to make decisions in alignment with our true nature.
  2. Improvement of relations : by understanding the working styles of others, everyone can communicate better and manage conflicts.
  3. Personal development : Human Design offers avenues for reflection to promote one's own personal and spiritual growth.
  4. Team management : In a professional context, knowing each person's type within a team allows for better utilization of individual talents and ensures that tasks are not assigned to people who are not suited for them.
  5. Education of childrens : Parents can apply the teachings of Human Design to better support their children's development. It is a truly effective tool in this area.

Share some special momentss

I find that regularly spending time together is not only a breath of fresh air but also something essential for any healthy and lasting relationship. Romantic dates should be genuine rituals to uphold. In fact, it's one of the five love languages by Gary Chapman: quality moments shared between two people. These shared moments help strengthen the emotional bond, create precious memories, and disconnect from daily life.

Partager des moments privilégiés

Sport or activity like pottery for each person but together, to develop
It is certain that tables, graphs, and statistics do not belong to the emotional world, but changes and maintaining the connection in a pragmatic way do. So here are some ideas for planning shared moments, organized in a table, which might be a bit out of place when talking about a couple:

Ideas for planning shared moments:

Frequency

Activity

Objective

Three times a week

Practicing a sport like running, climbing, cycling, cold bathing (in December, it's a sport!)

Sharing a common goal of being healthy creates a new dimension of connection.

Weekly

Outdoor outing together

Romantic and love connection

Weekly

An evening to play, read a book together, give massages, dance

Communication, complicity, and closeness

Every two weeks

Romantic dinner outside, or picnic in nature with a walk

Intimacy and closeness

Every month or two months

Weekend together without children

Stepping back from daily life and sharing future desires

Value friendship within the couple's life

Valuing friendship within the couple is essential for building strong, lasting bonds. romantic relationship. It is not necessarily intuitive to consider one's spouse as one's best friend, but it is a foundational element to be able to present oneself to them with one's strengths and in more vulnerable moments, to be both bright and dark, and to create authenticity, trust, and security.

Why is friendship crucial ?

  • Complicity and mutual respect: Friendship strengthens the couple in the face of challenges and allows for the creation of a happy couplex
  • Trust and acceptance: Knowing how to welcome others in their authenticity creates connection. Recognizing their strengths as well as their weaknesses without judgment invites a balanced and serene relationship.
  • Know and celebrate: Gestures of affection and daily attentions reflect this deep understanding of the other person. Celebrating small victories together creates a sense of teamwork.

How to value this friendship ?

  • Small gesturesaffectionately: A smile, a tender gesture, active listening.
  • Good communication : Moments of sincere and caring dialogues.
  • Privileged time: Programmer, as we discussed earlier, regular one-on-one moments to fully reconnect.

To speak frankly with each other even if, at first, the form isn't there.

We all have different ways of reacting to what bothers us, and it does not depend on what happens outside but rather on our inner security.

In other words if we feel fragile, misunderstood, in danger, with the fear of losing, we tend to manipulate, lie, cheat, shout, push, issue ultimatums, bargain A night of love, being ugly and selfish.

Be aware that in case of disagreement, the most important thing is to feel safe, to view the other person as your partner and not as your adversary.

Tantra has truly been a wealth for us., we had the opportunity to experience workshops and retreats together in couple's tantra only (we particularly recommend Integral Tantra where you can have raw and vegan meals!) or individually in men's or women's tantra to learn self-acceptance and acceptance of the other. We do not recommend mixed Tantra formats for couples.

Even if there are disputes at first, while the other reassures us once again of their love and the desire to continue together, speaking truthfully and expressing things allows us to place the problems outside the couple and resolve them together.

Special leaders, artists, entrepreneurs: Pauline Vernet

True Samurai and hacker of the unconscious, Pauline Vernet has been accompanying us as leaders of Biovie as a couple for several years. We have tried many formats with her, individually, in groups, long, short.

Contrary to popular belief, work together Being in a couple by relying on each other's complementarities is a very enriching experience, but it is also a real challenge on a daily basis, which requires openness and a willingness to evolve.

In 35 years of personal development, numerous workshops, training sessions, techniques learned, readings, and conferences, I have never met a person as perceptive, sharp, precise, and efficient as her.

To such an extent that I sometimes wondered if Pauline was really of this world!

She possesses an exceptional ability to keenly and precisely identify the friction points in our lives and to provide us with a few key insights, not as a ready-made solution, but as a way to overcome our limits and move forward.

Moreover, respect, the complete absence of judgment and the benevolent neutrality of Pauline are truly elements that instantly create an atmosphere of great trust. She also respects where we are and what we are capable of implementing. Frankly, her qualities are very rare.

For several months, I have been persistently asking Pauline to propose a support format for our community with a special offer, because we really want to be its ambassadors as it has brought us so much in every aspect: Personal, couple, professional, familial.

It is done today, Pauline has agreed for us to be the first to speak publicly about her and to share our joy of being coached by her.

You will be able to discover her as a magician helping you untie your knots and join his intensive 3-day program with the 10% discount code: BIOVIE10.

Practice small daily acts of kindness

Ah, the small gesturesof everyday life, these unsung heroes of lasting love, these beacons of tenderness that illuminate the path to a fulfilling relationship! Practicing small daily gestures is like regularly watering the plant of love so that it never withers. Here are some suggestions

  • Prepare a special dinner is something that affects one's partner and strengthens the bonds. Just a nice tablecloth and candles can make a difference.
  • Offer a little surprise, organize an unexpected activity (We had a great private pottery workshop as a couple in Sommières this summer, glazed with bubbles!), planning a gift are gestures that rekindle the flame.
  • An elegantly presented hot drink, with a piece of raw chocolate, it's a little something that brightens up everyday life
  • A romantic outing is obviously an activity that creates mutual attraction in the couple

These actions taken one by one seem trivial, and yet, they have immense power: that of manifesting love in a concrete and tangible way. A dish simmered with care, an unexpected gift, or just a moment to have a faux - lupin coffee (Biovie, of course!) together in this whirlwind of life, yes, these little things matter and create a virtuous circle of appreciation for one another.

L'espace du couple

Finally, affective communication - this exchange of kindness and attention - fills the emotional reservoir, creating a barrier against indifference. Thus maintained, the flame of love shines brightly, and the secret garden of the happy couplesx remains lush, far from the dullness of routine.

Treat yourself to couples counseling

I am always amazed to see how socially we are accustomed to investing thousands of euros in material things (home renovations, new cars for some...) that will only depreciate over time. Investing money in one's relationship, something intangible, unlike material things that will depreciate, is an investment that will improve and appreciate. One of the ways we have found to do this is by following the guidance of one of the leading figures in France on the subject, Florentine D'aunois Wang, a TEDx speaker.
Florentine is offering a free discovery conference that you can follow here: 45 minutes to understand and resolve all your relationship conflicts.

L'espace du couple

Florentine allowed us to explore areas that we had never discussed together, it allowed us to get to know each other better, to leave the training with simple and useful human relational tools, it is a training that we warmly recommend. Living well together is not necessarily innate, and it is possible to learn and improve in this area.

Our greatest shared passion: traveling

Traveling around the world

Traveling together is a true passion for Aurélie and me. We love meeting our suppliers, and it's a unique way to get to know a culture, a country, and people in their environment. I have been traveling personally since the age of 20 when I made my first humanitarian trip to India for the Committee in Support of the Tibetan People and produced a report for Jean Paul Ribes of "L'Express" magazine.

My studies in tropical agronomy have allowed me to turn this passion for meeting others into a profession, as Biovie currently works with about fifteen countries, and When Aurélie joined me in the Biovie adventure, we quickly realized that we shared this great passion.

Plus coconuts, Thailande
Visiting our Thai coconut supplier.

Traveling as a couple and with a young child like Zia, in an ever-changing environment, challenges us greatly on a human and relational level: Unexpected events are to be expected, adaptability is essential, and every day one must be able to bounce back, make choices, and reassess oneself. These trips are intense moments of discovering each other away from our usual habits, in both strengths and vulnerabilities, and in our case, they help to forge our relationship as a couple.

Traveling from home

Our geographical setup means that we are far from our respective families, who are several hours away from us. Without nearby family support, we quickly adopted the au pair system for short periods to be able to manage our daily operational responsibilities at home. Thus, in 8 years, no fewer than 80 young and not-so-young people from all over the world have come through our doors. thanks to the system Workaway, and it continues today.

This "home" travel adventure is incredibly rich in human experiences; it has allowed us to meet people from all walks of life, from many countries, in extremely diverse human situations, often with atypical backgrounds. Curiosity and the desire to reach out to others is often a common trait.

Workaway Langlade

Human interactions have been greatly diverse over the past eight years. Some friendships were born and have remained beyond borders, and some people have even joined the Biovie team in this way.

Sometimes we are asked if we feel overwhelmed: the opposite is happening., these people who come to share our life, our home, allow us to have an evening, an afternoon, a weekend, or a day as a couple while ensuring a physical presence and continuity at home for the children.

Here is this very engaging article for us, feel free to join us on our Telegram channel to follow the behind-the-scenes of our bustling life !
