The pomegranate is an extraordinary and delicious red fruit, a symbol of life with numerous benefits, particularly recommended for its antioxidant properties as we have seen in this article.
You can maximize the health benefits of this autumn fruit by consuming it fresh, harvested at maturity, of organic quality, and making pomegranate juice at home using a low-speed extractor, a pomegranate press like those found in the Middle East, including the seeds in a blender recipe, or pressing the seeds in a nut milk bag.
People who are not used to quickly peeling this excellent fruit may find themselves, as the expression goes, "like a chicken in front of a knife." Don't panic! In less than 30 seconds, you can transform this magnificent red fruit into a multitude of small ripe pomegranate seeds that you can easily press, all without white membranes:
Step 1: Cut a good fresh pomegranate in half horizontally
Cut your precious fruit on the side opposite to the stem axis
Step 2: Draw a cross with a knife on both halves of the pomegranate
Start the fruit well without cutting it completely
Step 3: Lift the four fruit quarters outward without detaching them
This is the most delicate part, you need to keep the fruit intact without ending up with a piece of pomegranate in the bowl!
Step 4: Tap the outer skin with a wooden spoon
Get a bowl and tap the 4 exposed quarters on each half of the fruit over your bowl.
And there you go! Enjoy the bowl to avoid getting dirty and wasting the precious antioxidant polyphenols contained in fresh pomegranate juice!
Enjoy your tasting!
