Back to School, the Energy of Autumn is Emerging

After the summer, which brings us its share of warmth, sunshine, and expansive energy, we gently feel the energy shifting as we prepare to change seasons.

The change of season does not occur in a calendar-based and established manner, and the energy of autumn is already arriving.

Autumn is a season where it is good to do some cleaning in your body as well as in your home.

Change in Temperatures and Humidity

We notice the change of season with the change in temperatures first. The heat decreases, and even if you live in a region where it is still hot in the afternoon, the temperatures drop at night. It is colder in the evening and in the morning.

In terms of moisture, we can see that the dew is much more significant day by day and that humidity is more present.

And of course, the light changes: the sun rises later and sets earlier. Gone are the long evenings of June when we didn't want to go to bed early at all.

Adapting Your Rhythm

Summer is the season of expansion, the season when we turn outward for harvests, traditional fieldwork, sharing, social relationships... We tend to do a lot of things, stay up late, waste our energy, and enjoy life.

It is now time to quietly welcome this change of season and gently turn inward, slow down the pace, go to bed a little earlier, eat healthily, take care of yourself...

Taking the time to reconnect with yourself and take care of your health is a beautiful autumnal gift to give yourself.

Why Slow Down?

We are natural beings, and if we lived in natural conditions, in contact with nature, we would change our rhythm simply because we would be connected to our environment.

Adapting your rhythm to that of nature allows our body to regulate itself better and helps us feel more balanced.

Indeed, it is not natural to maintain the same work rhythm regardless of the season, the hours of sunrise and sunset, and the temperatures...

This exhausts our body and brings on winter illnesses, fatigue, depression, and its share of inconveniences.

Slowing down and turning inward during this back-to-school period allows the body to regain strength and balance to cope with the pace we impose on it.

Listening to Your Needs

Listen to your body and do what is good for you.

In the morning, take some time to wake up your body and breathe deeply.

Drink quality water, herbal teas suited to your needs.

Eat foods that make you feel good, full of vitality, nutrients, and minerals!

If you work indoors, sitting all day, take advantage of breaks to walk, get some fresh air, go outside for a few minutes. Enjoy the still-present sun rays and the colors that will soon change in nature, starting with the foliage of the trees.

Don't stress yourself out, put your life priorities into perspective, and try to come home with a light head and heart to fully enjoy this free time, being in good company with your loved ones and yourself!

If you feel a significant drop in vitality, low morale, it might be time to recharge your batteries and do a little detox. Don't delay, don't wait until you're exhausted and depressed.

I support people, in individual consultations, to seek balance and well-being gently.

An Adapted Diet

Consume fruits and vegetables in large quantities. Add nuts and seeds.

If you tend to get cold, make warm raw soups or add lightly steamed vegetables to your evening meal.

Drink water outside of meals. Prefer quality water, low in minerals.

Autumn Detox

After the excesses of summer, it is often useful to take advantage of this autumn energy for an internal cleanse. We will lighten our body of these accumulated wastes over time, a consequence of diet, stress, fatigue, lack of exercise, various pollutions, etc...

Just like in spring, autumn is a transitional season that is conducive to cleaning both your home and your body: you make space, you throw away, you give away what no longer serves you and what takes up too much space, you sort, you lighten, you unload, you air out, you free up...

All of this will allow us to feel less oppressed, lighter, and freer.

It is important

  • to properly prepare the body for this cleansing. We will proceed step by step, which will allow the body to prepare and avoid certain inconveniences, but also enable a more effective and deeper cleanse because the preparation gently sets the body in motion, making it more receptive.

  • to adapt the protocol and techniques according to each person. I choose based on temperament, vitality, medical history, current needs, and of course, based on the emunctory assessment to ensure the body can respond favorably to this autumn detox we are proposing.

The autumn detox will allow the body to make space by activating various organs: liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, skin.

Some suggestions:

  • Start with dietary changes by introducing a large portion of raw fruits and vegetables into your diet. Take advantage of autumn's abundance: grapes, apples, pears, persimmons, salads, carrots, squashes, chard, fennel, cabbages, tomatoes, beets...

  • Increase water consumption, drink vegetable juices

  • Drink herbal teas that are suitable, favoring plants with gentle action if you are not accompanied (rosemary, nettle, for example). Ideally, you should be advised by a naturopath or herbalist for the choice of herbal tea blends that will be personalized according to your needs.

  • Rest, go to bed early in the evening, take care of yourself by taking a bath from time to time or a foot bath, a hammam or sauna session.

  • Do exercise mindfully, turn to yoga, qi gong, or tai chi to have an activity that allows you to listen to your body, and of course, walk regularly, garden, move. Try to go for walks in nature as often as possible: by the sea, in the forest, in the mountains, in a park. Adapt according to your possibilities and environment, but get outside!

  • Breathe deeply to bring oxygen and energy to your cells: simple deep breathing, cardiac coherence, or any other technique that suits you.

  • Cultivate the joy of living, gratitude, seek to see the good side of things and to radiate. Surround yourself with pleasant and positive people, take time for yourself and for others in a harmonious way.

  • Diffuse pleasant essential oils in the house and at the office (sweet orange, mandarin, Scots pine, eucalyptus radiata...).

  • If your body allows it, you can go further by doing intermittent fasting, fasting, mono-diets of grapes, apples, or carrots, but also cleanses ranging from herbal teas to purges depending on your situation.

  • The type of fasting, the type of mono-diets, herbal teas, and purges will be chosen based on your personal situation.

  • Get support to make the right choices, gain perspective, and have support.

Preparing for winter

The autumn cleanse will allow you to clean up inside yourself to lighten up and get rid of the unnecessary.

We will also take the opportunity to prepare our bodies for winter by boosting the immune system and preserving vitality in a global manner.

Prevention is the best strategy: winter is prepared for now.

Detox is a useful prerequisite to prevent winter ailments and give the body every chance to be prepared for harsher conditions and winter gloom.

Detox for the body but also for the mind.

In summary:

Prepare your body and mind to enter a more introspective period and offer yourself the best conditions to find the right balance.

Get support because your autumn detox will not be the same as your neighbor's, spouse's, or dog's!

Lighten up and get rid of what weighs you down.

And do the inner cleaning in an appropriate way: fasting, purging, herbal teas, etc...

Not too little, not too much!

Sometimes it's better to go slowly but surely than to go very fast and quickly fall back...
