IS NATUROPATHY DEAD?

Currently, various people suggest that naturopathy is dead on the grounds that it is not scientific enough.

That said, such a "statement" is interesting because it highlights the fact that some naturopathy-hygienist training schools convey outdated, incorrect, or unclear information.

At the ENHED School (School of Naturopathy and Hygienism Eric Darche), no concept is proposed without being questioned if necessary.

For example, the protein-starch combination criticized by many naturopathic currents is validated in our training in order to be in line with experience and scientific reality.

On the other hand, numerous recent scientific pieces of information are offered in our training. For example, we make sure to emphasize the fundamental differences between natural and synthetic molecules and warn naturopathy students about this crucial point.

Not distinguishing between dietary supplements that offer natural or synthetic molecules can have serious health consequences for the people who consume them.

This is just an example of the important scientific information offered at the ENHED school.

At ENHED school, our specialty is having integrated nutrition-pathology courses into the curriculum .

The objective of this initiative is to address the challenges faced by various "young" naturopath-hygienists, at least at the beginning of their professional careers, despite the breadth and quality of knowledge offered by the majority of naturopathy schools.

Indeed, in practice, it is not easy for a beginner naturopath to master and keep in mind in real-time all the specific and individualized knowledge they would need to optimize their advice.

To address the difficulty that various naturopath-hygienists experience at the beginning of their professional careers, at ENHED school, we offer all students at the end of their training different courses in the form of sheets, titled nutrition-pathologies.

For this, we first listed the major themes of "health disorders" that one might encounter in the practice of this profession. For example, joint, nervous and mental, digestive, gynecological, cardiovascular, respiratory, and ENT disorders, etc.

Next, for each major theme,It is not a matter of reviewing all the diseases that are closely or remotely related to them, but rather of explaining and understanding the genesis and common mechanisms that link all these health disorders, in order to address them in a holistic and comprehensive manner.

For example, for joint diseases, the possible causes could be an acidic, demineralized condition, micronutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, cellular accumulation of toxins and various other toxic substances, etc. Then, specific, tailored, and individualized advice will be offered to correct and rebalance these different "disorders" as much as possible.

PS: Let us never forget that the naturopath-hygienist does not treat the disease in any way, but through their advice, helps their clients optimize all health factors to contribute to harmony and real, not artificial, well-being. Initially, it is imperative to seek the root cause of a health issue and correct them as much as possible.

In a second step, different health disorders are proposed for each major disease theme. For example, in the case of joint disorders, the following issues are addressed. osteoporosis, joint rheumatism, tendinitis, etc.

For each health disorder, such as osteoporosis for example, we will, just as it happens in a "real" consultation, offer an individualized dietary adjustment based on the "organic and biochemical" profile of the client. Then, we will provide advice on nutrition, micronutrition, as well as phytotherapy, aromatherapy, gemmotherapy, etc. All of this will be combined with technical advice in naturopathy or lifestyle hygiene, such as the use of wraps, poultices, baths, customized and individualized vegetable juice diets, etc.

All of this represents an asset and invaluable help for starting out in the practice of naturopathy and hygienism.

The valuable legacy brought by hygienism and naturopathy, thanks to decades of observations, should in no way be sacrificed in the name of a pseudo "science" but rather combined with authentic and real science for the benefit of all.

Naturopathy and hygienism, when stripped of certain erroneous, vague, or outdated concepts and combined with authentic, relevant, and recent scientific knowledge, represent a powerful and high-quality response to many of the "ills" of our society. All these approaches must be practiced "hand in hand" with allopathic medicine, which proves to be indispensable in many cases.

So contrary to what some people claim, naturopathy is not "dead" but indeed needs to be updated and amplified with recent scientific information, which is the case at the ENHED school, all combined with various specific knowledge and expertise in naturopathy and hygienism.
